Bedford holds on strongly
Jason Bedford led from start to finish to secure the victors spoils in Tinwald Cycling Club’s, PURE Sports Nutrition, Terrace Downs Resort, 45km handicap event on the rolling Lake Coleridge course on Sunday.
Bedford made a solo break mid race and held on strongly into a testing headwind to take the win.
Mike Richards continues to improve every race with a strong ride to claim second place.
Alex Hooper led the chasing bunch in to secure the final podium position.
Hot on his heels was Brad Hudson in fourth, with Roger Tackney, and Steve Caldwell in the thick of the finish to round out the top six.
Jack Gorrie fresh from a top shelf ride in the under 19 road cycling nationals, secured fastest time honours, riding the course in 61.06.
Co-markers Kyle Gray and Craig Domigan recorded second and third time.
The juniors and division 2 contested a 17km handicap event.
Jamie Hooper secured his first win of the season with a strong ride off the front, holding the chasing marks at bay.
First starter Ethan Wilson produced a stand out ride to take second place.
Lucy Hudson continued her hot season form, leading the chasing bunch in to claim third place.
Billy Nelson and Dane Broomhall rounded out the top five.
Scratch marker Blake Broomhall recorded fastest time, riding the distance in 31.08.
Stacey Hooper lifted division 2 honours.
Next week the Club will contest a 48km handicap event on the Grahams Road block.
