Bedford takes the win

Jason Bedford had a day to remember when he took the victors spoils in Tinwald Cycling Clubs, Aaron Stewart Memorial, 48km handicap race around the Grahams Road block on Sunday.

Bedford and his co-markers settled into their work early ensuring the chasing bunches did not catch them.

In the charge to the line it was Bedford who found the line the strongest.

Eamon Hooper was in the thick of the finish to secure second place, with the ever green Don Morrsion taking the final podium position.

Paul Williams produced his usual tough ride to charge into fourth place.

Matt Marshall and John Uden rounded out the top six.

Scratch marker Andre Free produced a top shelf ride to take fastest time honours and in doing so lift the Aaron Stewart Memorial Cup, covering the distance in a quick 60.34.

Co-markers Craig Domigan and Noah Hollamby recorded second and third time.

The juniors and division 2 contested a 16km handicap event.

Carter Shepherd having his first hit out of the season produced the best possible outcome, riding through from the back mark to take the win and lift fastest time honours.

Carter rode the course in 34.53.

Lucy Hudson continues to impress with a strong ride to take second place.

The ever consistent Nic Dalley claimed third place with Declan Gilbert hot on this tail in fourth.

Kenny Johnston took division 2 honours from Mike Richards and Liz Wylie.

The future roadies saw Jamie Hooper take the win from Isabella Harris and Brooklyn Richards.

Next week the Cub will contest a 16km handicap event around the Dawson Road block.
