White lifts Wylie Memorial

Simon White built on last weeks good ride to achieve the best possible outcome when he took victory in Tinwald Cycling Club’s,  Wylie Family, Shona McGrath Mystery Teams event raced over 45km around the Christies Road block on Sunday.

White’s efforts saw him lift the Alan Wylie Memorial Cup.  

White found the front late in the race and was able to jump clear of his bunch to go to the line uncontested.

Behind him a good battle was on to see who filled the final podium spots.

Ross Templeton had the best of the finish to take a second place, with first time starter Allan Broomhall producing a top effort to secure third place.

Scratch marker Larry Neal claimed fastest time honours riding the course in 63.40.

Co-markers Kyle Gray and Tony Ward recorded second and third time.

The juniors and division 2 contested an 18km handicap event.

First time start Kaidyn Broomhall ensured the Broomhall family had a day to remember, riding a great race to take the winners flag.

Second placegetter Charlotte Neal equalled her fathers efforts by taking fastest time honours, riding the distance in 42.15.

Thomas Stevenson dug deep to secure the final podium position.

Division 2 saw a bunch finish, with Janette Hooper getting the nod on the line to take the win from Kerry Clough, and Brian Ellis.  Roger Wilson secured time honours.

Next week the Club will travel to Methven to contest a 45km handicap event.
