Hooper One, Two, and One

The Hooper stable scooped the major prizes in Tinwald Cycling Club’s, Canterbury Tree Topping, The Sausage Man, 48km handicap event around the Wakanui Beach block on Sunday.

It was a Hooper shoot out in the charge to the line with Terissa Hooper getting the better of her husband Eamon to take the major spoils.

With the chasing groups on the charge the Hooper duo made a dash for glory in the final 5km and held on gamely to secure the quinella.

Thomas Audeau backed up from his victory in the Temuka Pottery Classic the previous day to led the chasing bunch in for third.

Abe O’Donnell produced a top ride to secure fourth place.

Cole Harris and Darryl Kircher rounded out the top six.

Scratch marker Kyle Gray rode the course in 64.44, to claim fastest time honours.

Co-markers Jack Drage and Michael Audeau secured second and third time.

The juniors and division 2 contested an 18km handicap event.

Jack Hooper keep the family flag flying high with a strong ride to take the winners spoils.

Kaidyn Broomhall continues to improve with a solid ride to claim second place.

Louie Audeau charged through from the back mark to secure the final podium position and fastest time honours, riding the distance in 29.07.

Charlotte Neal is another who backed up from a top effort the previous day to take fourth place.

Oscar Gorrie and Carter Shepherd filled out the top half dozen.

Graham McDougall took line honours in Division 2.

Next week the Club will travel to Terrace Downs to contest a 50km handicap race.
