Hendrickson on the come back

Jelle Hendrickson come back from injury is well on track if his efforts in taking victory in Tinwald Cycling Clubs, On Your Bike Hire, 35km handicap event around the Winchmore Church block on Sunday is anything to go by.

Hendrickson and his co-markers worked hard to find the front in the second half of the race.

In the four up sprint to the line Hendrickson had the final say to the win and lift the Blackburn Cup.

Isabella Inglis ensured her first start in senior ranks was a memorable one, riding strongly to secure the second place spoils.

Charlotte Cox produced a top ride to charge into third place.

Christchurch visitor Simon White was in the thick of finish to take fourth place.  

The evergreen Paul Williams and Don Morrison fought out the finish for the top six, with Williams getting the nod by the barest of margins to take fifth place, with Morrison in sixth.

Scratch marker Kyle Gray rode the course in a quick 47.28 to secure fastest time honours.

Steve Hands and Tony Ward were in the thick of the finish to claim second and third time.

The juniors and Division 2 contested a 18km handicap event.

Back marker Zoe Spillane produced a top shelf ride to take both the victory and fastest time honours.  Zoe covered the distance in 29.21.

Sarah Gould kicked the year off in great fashion securing the second place spoils.

Zac Brookland ensured his trip north was worth it, getting up on the line in a hard fought sprint to take third place.

Ryan Gallagher continued his string of good results with fourth place.

Laughlin Hall and Copper Spillane rounded out the top six.

A good field of division 2 riders went to the line.

Kenny Johnston had the best of the bunch sprint to take the win and in doing so secured fastest time, from Andy Skinner and Brian Ellis.

Next week the Club will contest a 45km handicap event around the Christies Road block.
